Green tea (L-theanine)
Green tea provides caffeine alongside L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calm alertness. Studies indicate the caffeine–theanine combination can improve attention and reduce the jittery edge of caffeine alone, and green tea’s polyphenols carry general antioxidant interest. Effects are modest and it is safe for most people at dietary intakes.
